It's been a while!

At last the week is finally  here that I get to attend my 1st gig of the year! It's been a long long time it feels since my last musical escapade. Well infact it was December 22nd ( so around 2 months).  I managed to squeeze in 2 gigs in a day, so I was rather greedy.
Firstly it was the fabulous  brummie band Broken Witt Rebels, this was their 1st Christmas gig, a show organised by one of their fans. In a great venue in Birmingham  that I'd never been to before Actress & Bishop pub on Ludgate Hill. We arrived there around 1pm (this was an afternoon show) after quickly leaving our bags at the Ibis Irving Street. This is an excellent place to stay if going to gigs at the Academy which is just at the bottom of the road. It looks like a motel, the rooms have been refurbished & are very comfortable & absolutely do the job.
So after bumping into Tim (Clutch,  the next gig of the day)  on the walk round to the Actress & Bishop, this took us around 15mins, we headed to the bar, seeing the place full of people wearing Broken Witt Rebels t shirts we knew we were in the right place. The bar is a cool little place that has a great friendly vibe with music on regularly in the room upstairs.
The room is fairly small so it was hot n sweaty in there. The boys came on stage and played a great set, with their bluesy rock they had the crowd singing along to every tune.  Danny's voice is a delight, the 1st time I saw him sing I was astonished that such a raw  bluesy sound was coming from such a young guy. Their sound has a Southern feel to it, strong vocals from Danny with James Tranter on guitar, Luke on Bass & James Dudley on drums. Giving us Howlin', Snake Eyes, Getaway Man, Loose Change  to name but a few of boys blues tinged rock tunes.
The show is a resounding success with an adoring crowd lapping up every second. Looking forward to seeing more of the band this year.
Quickly get to say Hi to Danny after the show  & then it's off for a bite to eat before the evenings treat of Clutch at the Academy.
